New Songs!

So, although I'm not doing the '365 Days of Music', I still want to spend time on new songs I discover. Today's awesome new song is:

"Just Like You" By Matt Maher

Matt Maher is an awesome Christian/Catholic songwriter, and so many of his songs relate really well to me and my experiences. This song is basically a worship song expressing how we all want to be just like Jesus. The chorus goes "I want to be holy just like you. I want to go where you lead me to. With reckless abandon to your truth, I wanna fall deeper in love with you'. It's upbeat, and it's great to sing at weekly worship with other people at the top of your lungs, or just by yourself, when you need time to think, and pray in song form.

So there's my awesome song of the day. Be looking for other songs soon!

Bowling and Burgers

I went bowling today with my friends - we're all heading back to our respective universities in a week or less, so we figured a hang-out was in order. It was a ton of fun, and I broke 100 for my score, the second time I've ever done that, with bumpers, of course. =P Then we went to In-N-Out Burger, which is amazing. In order to get In-N-Out while I'm at university, I have to drive to a city one and a half hours away. And although I've done that before, it's nice to be able to go and hang out and have it only five minutes away. Overall, today was a pretty awesome day! =D

*Legal disclaimer for shoe post - Yes, I do work for Payless. No, my opinions etc. do not necessarily match those of the company etc. etc. I just like the shoes.*

I'm a redhead!

Okay, well, sort of. I tried to dye my hair red, but to be honest, it's still pretty much brown. It was fun though. For those of you who have never dyed your hair before, ('cause I hadn't until today), here's how it works:

1. After mixing dye, saturate your hair with it. Make sure you are wearing gloves.
2. Let sit for 25 minutes or so.
3. Rinse hair out.
4. Condition your hair and let sit 2 minutes before rinsing.
5. Dry hair
6. Apply highlights. (Gloves again)
7. Let sit 15 minutes or so.
8. Rinse out.
9. Condition again with color-preserving conditioner. Let sit for 3 minutes before rinsing out.
10. Dry again!

This is the color I tried to dye it. To be honest, it's pretty close to my original brown, but with red and blond highlights, but it looks much nicer than it did before. It's lighter, and I've never had highlights before (fake ones, anyways). Plus, my hair is soft with all the conditioning in the process. Maybe sometime in the future, spring break maybe?, I'll dye my hair blond, and then red, so it will turn out better. Who knows? It was a fun experience and I had fun hanging out with my friend. (Who also did most of the dying, and did a pretty good job.) =D

Shoes!

Okay, so I decided to ditch the whole "music" thing that I was doing before, simply because I don't have time to update my blog that often. So instead, I will write about whatever I want to write about. And today, that will be shoes, because I work at Payless and I see them all day long.

Womens American EagleAudrey Jersey Knot Ballet FlatThis is one of my favorite shoes that they have. I absolutely love it. I have a pair in satin black and a pair with a shiny zebra print (cuter than it sounds). They also come in satin navy blue, fuzzy (jersey is the official title) purple, red, and black, a cloth black, and a super cool shiny fabric. And online you can even get them in gingham! To be honest, I wish I could own them all... although I already have two pairs! The satin ones are my favorite because they look the most professional, and I really want the navy ones, although I have no logical reason to own them. Thus, I don't. They also come in kids and baby sizes, although the smaller sizes have straps on them so they don't fall off. They come in pink in the kids sizes too. They are super comfy and I can wear them for longer work days, which is pretty awesome. (Picture from payless.com)

Anyways, that's it for today. =) I had an awesome time hanging out with my friends after work today - we went to Starbucks, wandered Target, watched 'Easy A', played Foosball, and ate homemade chocolate molten lava cakes. I'm considering dying my hair red, but I'm still debating it. =D
